Lecturer in Marketing (Full Time)

The Marketing Faculty at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management is seeking applicants for a full-time non-tenure track teaching position as Lecturer in Marketing, beginning September 2011. The position calls for a 3-3 teaching load. The initial contract is for one year and after that may be renewable in two-year increments.

A well-qualified applicant will desire a full-time teaching career, excel in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate (MBA) levels with evidence of teaching excellence at an accredited business school, and be an enthusiastic participant in the Marketing Department and Carroll School community. Strong applicants should be versatile, with an ability to teach a variety of marketing courses, with an emphasis on quantitative, as well as conceptual, marketing skills. Strong industry experience would be valuable. A Ph.D. in Marketing would be preferred, but a master’s degree may be adequate in cases of exceptional leadership in marketing. We seek candidates who will be enthusiastic about working with students outside the classroom setting (e.g., advising students, student organizations) and who have strong ties to the marketing profession with knowledge of marketing careers, marketing firms, and external marketing leaders. Information about the Marketing Department is available at: http://www.bc.edu/schools/csom/departments/marketing.html

Boston College offers competitive salaries and benefits, a collegial environment, outstanding students, and an energetic faculty with close ties to Boston and national marketing and academic communities. We seek individuals with an openness to diverse intellectual interests and an appreciation for Boston College’s Jesuit and liberal arts traditions. The Carroll School of Management is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Please submit application in electronic form to: Dr. Gerald Smith, Chair, Department of Marketing, at mkposition@bc.edu. Please attach a cover letter and resume or vita to the body of an e-mail, contact information for three references, and evidence of teaching excellence. Applications received by June 15, 2011 will be given priority attention.
