Welcome!

The Women's and Gender Studies Program at Boston College offers an interdisciplinary minor to undergraduates and places emphasis on the study of gender across time and space, with a global perspective on feminism.

Women's and Gender Studies critically analyzes the interaction of gender with other differences in society such as race, sexuality, religion, and class. The range of issues that intersect with gender such as nationalism and post-colonialism, epistemology, health, labor, media, family work, and welfare are additional aspects that are studied. This analysis is done in an interdisciplinary environment of scholars that allows students to meaningfully connect to the social and political work outside of their own departments in the pursuit of social justice and human rights.
