Faculty and students in the area of the history of Christian life and thought trace the Christian community’s journey through its 2,000 years of development as it grew and changed in a variety of cultural and evolving religious, social, and political settings. The department faculty who specialize in this area have a strong interest in Early Christianity, Medieval Christianity, Reformation Christianity, Jewish-Christian relations, Holocaust Studies, Modern Christianity, and American Catholicism.
