An MFA Playwriting Student at Boston University, Michael Towers is currently on sabbatical from his teaching position at Westford Academy where he has worked for fifteen years. In his tenth year as Artistic Director of Westford Academy Theater Arts (WATA), Michael manages an 839 seat performing arts center which is home to four main stage productions each year. Complemented with guest directors and designers from the Boston area, WATA produces a total of eight shows each year, four of which are performed in the fifty seat black box theater. Last year, Michael’s production of Brian Friel’s , Dancing at Lughnasa, was named Finals Winner at the Massachusetts High School Drama Guild’s State Theater Festival and Festival Winner at the National Performing Arts Festival in New York City.
