Ruth Conrad-Proux

Courses: Elements of Theatre Production I

Ruth is a professional theatre technician specializing in technical direction and production management in producing theatrical venues.

Ruth earned her BFA in Technical Theatre (technical direction/stage management) along with her BFA in Studio Art (ceramics/photography) from Millikin University.  She went on to earn her MFA in Theatre Technology emphasizing in Scenic Technology from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. 

Ruth has worked professionally from the mountains in Utah to the mountains in Vermont in more than 6 states and 3 countries with theatre companies, opera companies, and in academic theatrical settings.  She has worked alongside professionals and students alike to meet the ever present challenges each production presents finding learning experiences everywhere.  For the past two summers Ruth worked as the Production Manager with the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine.  She is happy to return to Boston where they will mount 6 more shows this season!

At Boston College Ruth co-teaches Elements of Production I and oversees the scene shop, paint and props, and run crew labs in the Theatre Department.
