Dance at BC

theatre department - college of arts and sciences

Dance at Boston College takes many forms. The Theatre Department offers a variety of courses in dance technique, choreography, stage movement, musical theater, and performance history, some of which can be combined into a Dance for Theater Concentration. There are a number of student-run dance groups, including Dance Ensemble and Dance Organization of Boston College, which present concerts once or twice a year. BC is also home to the Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble, a professional not-for-profit dance company headed by Robert VerEcke, S.J., Jesuit Artist in Residence.

In Fall 2007 BC inaugurated the new Brighton Dance Studio as the designated home for dance on campus. Converted from the gymnasium of the former St. John's Seminary on the Brighton campus, the studio is used for dance classes, rehearsals, and workshops.
