Theatre Concentration

theatre department - college of arts and sciences

Students wishing to study theatre, but who cannot pursue a major, may take a theatre concentration. This course of study consists of six classes and three production labs. The classes are Dramatic Structure and Theatrical Process (CT 062); Acting I (CT 101); Elements of Theatre Production I (CT 140); Theatre History I (CT 275); and two 300-level electives from the Literature, Criticism and History category. Although the grades for the completed courses will appear on students’ transcripts, the term “concentration” will not. At the completion of required courses, students will receive a certificate indicating that they have successfully completed the requirements for the concentration. Copies of this certificate may be presented to graduate schools or potential employers.
