Harry Rosser was named Associate Editor of Hispania, the Journal of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, for a three-year term beginning January, 2011.


 

2010

Sarah Beckjord and Ourida Mostefai were awarded a grant from the Institute for Liberal Arts (ILA) Grant for their Global Humanities Project for the academic year 2010-2011.

Ourida Mostefai was named as Professeur Invitée, Ecole Normale Supérieure (Ulm), Paris, April 2010.

Ourida Mostefai was elected to the 18th Century French Literature Division of the Modern Language Association of America (MLA) for a five-year term (2010-2015).

Elizabeth Rhodes received a Research Incentive Grant from the Institute on Aging for her research on saints’ lives.


 

2009

Sarah Beckjord was awarded an 80% Sabbatical Grant for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Matilda Bruckner was appointed to the Editorial Board of H-France.

Rena Lamparska was inducted by the President of the Republic of Italy into the honorary "Ordine della Stella della Solidarietà Italiana" with the title of "Dama" on May 6, 2009.

Franco Mormando received a Faculty Fellowship for Fall 2009.

Ourida Mostefai was inducted as Chevalier (Knight) in the Ordre des Palmes Académiques on January 29th 2009.

Ourida Mostefai received a Boston College Research Incentive Grant, Spring 2009.

Ourida Mostefai was appointed to the Advisory Board, Boisi Center for Religion and American Public Life, Boston College.

Elizabeth Rhodes was inducted as an honorary member of the BC chapter of the Golden Key International Honor Society.

Debbie Rusch received an Academic Technology Innovation Grant from Boston College.


 

2008

Ernesto Livon-Grosman received an Academic Technology Innovation Grant from Boston College.

Ernesto Livon-Grosman's film Cartoneros won the "Best Green Film" award at the 2008 Connecticut Film Festival and special mention at the 2008 International Film and Human Rights Festival in Buenos Aires.


 

2007

Ernesto Livon-Grosman's film, Cartoneros won the National City 2007 Tulipanes Film Award for "Best Educational Film."

Ourida Mostefai was the Boston College Faculty Lecturer during the Boston College Alumni Association Trip to Dordogne, France, in April 2007.

Ourida Mostefai was appointed advisory editor of Eighteenth-Century Studies, a refereed journal published by Johns Hopkins University Press, for a three-year term (2007-2010).

Elizabeth Rhodes received the Teaching with New Media Award, 2006-2007, "For Excellence in Teaching with Technology."


 

2006

Andrea Javel received the Outstanding Faculty Award from Learning Resources for Student Athletes.

Harry Rosser was elected member of the Executive Council of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) and co-organized the annual conference held in Salamanca, Spain, Summer 2006.

Rebecca Valette and her husband Jean-Paul were profiled in the December 17, 2006 Boston Sunday Globe.


 

2005

Matilda Bruckner was awarded a Faculty Research Fellowship by The National Endowment for the Humanities for her research on Chrétien's Grail Romance Continued (February 2005).

Franco Mormando was inducted by the President of the Republic of Italy into the honorary "Ordine della Stella della Solidarietà Italiana" with the title of "Cavaliere" (Knight), October 12, 2005.
