The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Boston College currently has one open position:
Boston College seeks an Assistant Professor of the Practice to teach and coordinate the multi-sectioned language course(s) under his or her supervision; assist with placement, advising and assessment of students across the language curriculum; and collaborate in curriculum development. This is a full-time appointment with a 2/3 teaching load and a renewable three-year term, contingent upon a successful review, beginning July 1, 2014.
We seek a candidate with native or near native fluency in Spanish, Ph.D. in hand, evidence of excellence in teaching at the college level, training in second-language acquisition and/or applied linguistics and its relevant technologies, and commitment to language instruction. Expertise in foreign language pedagogy and assessment particularly welcome, as is the ability to collaborate with Boston College’s interdisciplinary and professional programs.
