About this course
Led by Hiroshi Nakazato, adjunct assistant professor and Associate Director of the International Studies Program, this course provides students with the tools to conduct academic research and to effectively produce research papers. It lays the groundwork for understanding qualitative research methods in the social sciences by covering three separate aspects: the models and theories behind research, the rationale of academic research, and the process of conducting one’s own academic research.

About the professor
Hiroshi Nakazato, a visiting assistant professor in international studies, teaches courses in international politics, international law, security studies, and research methods. His research interests include international relations theory and U.S. civil-military relations. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Calgary and his PhD from Boston College.
