Sciore Appointed CS Chair

01/03/11
The Computer Science Department announced last week the appointment of Associate Professor Edward Sciore as chairperson for the Department. Sciore replaces Prof. Howard Straubing who held the position since 2007.

Sciore received his Bachelor's Degree from Yale University, and M.S.E. and Ph.D. from Princeton University. He specializes in database systems--especially database design, web-based data access, metadata, and the meaningful communication of data between disparate sources.  He recently authored the popular textbook "Database Design and Implemention" published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Sciore's appointment as chairperson began on January 1, 2011.
