The Computer Science Department of Boston College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship beginning September, 2014. Applications from all areas of Computer Science will be considered. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related discipline, a strong research record, and a commitment to undergraduate teaching.
Boston College is a private Jesuit University with 14,000 students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and professional programs. The Computer Science Department offers academic programs leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science, as well as minor programs in Computer Science, Scientific Computation and Bioinformatics, a concentration in the Carroll School of Management, and an assortment of introductory-level and Core courses for non-specialists. Our advanced students have the opportunity to carry out independent study and to collaborate with faculty on research projects.
Faculty members maintain active programs of research and publication in computer vision, programming languages, machine learning, data mining, databases, modeling and simulation, and the theory of computation.
