Xian Bu '11
Xian Bu ’11 grew up in Harbin, China, and transferred to BC sophomore year. Originally an accounting major, she discovered that a communication major and music minor were a better fit with her interests and goals. Xian’s interest in television reporting and production led her to Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.
Having completed her graduate work, Xian aspires to become a foreign correspondent. When asked what advice she’d give to current students, Xian says, “They should follow their passion. This is the best advice that I got from many BC professors. Changing my major was a tough decision because my parents couldn't understand at first. But they fully support what I do now. I am and will always be grateful that BC changed my life.”
Xian is currently working for China Personified, a multimedia production company in New York. Hear more about Xian's personal journey here.
