Sam Robinson '12

alumni profile

Sam Robinson

Sam Robinson ’12 came to Boston College from a Jesuit high school in Detroit, Michigan.  He developed a passion for community service and continued this tradition at BC, where he joined 4 Boston.  Sam was interested in learning about how people engage with each other and thus coupled his psychology major with a major in communication.

Sam is enrolled in the University of Pennsylvania’s criminology research program.  The skills he refined for his communication classes (searching for journal articles, analyzing theories, and writing literature reviews) are ones he knows will help him be successful in his graduate work.  Sam’s advice for current BC students is to make the effort to get to know faculty: “It’s just a matter of getting to know them and letting yourself be open to what they have to teach you, whatever that may turn out to be.  Building relationships with professors that you like is, at least in my opinion, the best way to handle BC.”
