Fluorolog-321

biology shared equipment

The Horiba-Jobin-Yvon Spectrofluorometer is a modular instrument that in its current set-up is equipment with dual excitation monochromators and a single emission monochromator, which enables multi-wavelength experiments, wavelength scanning etc. Sample temperature can be controlled with a thermostatted cuvette-holder. The light source is a 450 W xenon lamp whereas the detector is a photomultiplier tube (PMT) covering the full range from UV to near-IR. A more detailed description of the instrument with applications and possible modular expansions can be found here: http://www.horiba.com/scientific/products/fluorescence-spectroscopy/steady-state/fluorolog/fluorolog-modular-spectrofluorometer-522/.

The fluorolog is located in room 483. For more information contact Marc-Jan Gubbels: gubbelsj@bc.edu.
