Cuporouse-Sulfide nanowires prepared in the laboratory of Prof. Dunwei Wang (Chemistry). The nanowires illustrated are about 250 nm in diameter. By comparison, a strand of human hair varies from 40,000 nm (40 um) to 120,000 nm (120 um) in diameter.
