Injury and Productivity—Fact Sheet
compiled by Betty Cohen
April 2008—The Injury & Productivity in the Multi-Generational Workplace Fact Sheet explores risks of injury in a multi-generational workplace, and the effect of injury on productivity. The issue of injury in a multi-generational workplace is analyzed based on occurrence of injuries and time lost due to injury among generational cohorts. The data in the fact sheet show that while older workers are likely to lose more work time when injured than younger workers; younger workers are more likely to become injured, though they are not affected for an extended period of time. This raises questions about loss of productivity overall among generational cohorts, and how companies should approach these issues of injury and productivity.
