Transitioning to the Nonprofit sector, hosted by the Sloan Center on Aging & Work
The Sloan Center on Aging & Work hosted, "Transitioning to the Nonprofit sector," at the Boston College Cadigan Alumni Center on December 4th, 2013. The event was sponsored by the center, and by Discovering What's Next, an organization focused onchanging the way people think about what's possible in the second half of life, and by Executive Service Corps, dedicated to providing high quality capacity building service to the nonprofit community at affordable rates.
The evening featured speaker, Laura Gassner Otting, President and Founder of Nonprofit Professional Advisory Group and author of Change Your Career: Transitioning to the Nonprofit Sector. Panelists who have made the transition from the for-profit sector to non-profit work also provided insight into their experiences: Theresa Hamacher, currently president of a nonprofit trade association, Peter Lewenberg, major gift officer at the Lahey Medical Center, and David Hirshberg, an organizational consultant to non-profits.
