Op-ed: What Ichiro's departure says about loyalty and the employer-employee relationship

27 July 2012—Dr. Kevin Cahill, research economist at the Sloan Center on Aging & Work, recently wrote an Op-ed for The Seattle Times sharing his perspective as an economist on the departure of Ichiro (from the Seattle Mariners) to the NY Yankees. His commentary on the trade extends beyond sports saying that the departure of Ichiro is a symptom of the shift in employer-employee relationships.
