One Year is the Average Length of Unemployment for Older Jobseekers

"At the start of the recession in December 2007, the average duration of unemployment for older jobseekers [aged 55+] was 20.2 weeks ... Average duration of unemployment for the older unemployed rose to 55.7 weeks in March 2012," according to a 2012 analysis of BLS statistics.
