Joseph F. Quinn, Professor and James P. McIntyre Chair in Economics, received his PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and BA in economics from Amherst College. His research interests include labor economics, the economics of aging, and social security reform. Dr. Quinn is on the board of directors and the executive committee of the National Academy of Social Insurance. Previously, he served on the selection panel for the TIAA-CREF Paul A. Samuelson Award, was a member of the board of governors of the Foundation for International Studies on Social Security in Amsterdam, a member of the editorial board of the Review of Income and Wealth, and a member of the Massachusetts Governor’s Council.
