"First to Love"

“First to Love” is the conference theme for NJSLC 2014. Boston College students find that love is a “more excellent way” (I Corinthians 12:31) to build community, for as the purest motivator, agape (selfless love) enables positive change for the good of others.  As student leaders, we believe it is our responsibility to take initiative and be the “first to love,” even when it is difficult and our efforts may not be recognized or reciprocated.  Attendees of NJSLC 2014 will leave the Heights having refreshed their perspectives; they will find a new peace within themselves, with others, and within the Jesuit, Catholic faith that will motivate them to take the first steps toward selfless love. Stay tuned for updates on the 2014 NJSLC Conference at Boston College!

Nothing is more practical than
finding God, than
falling in Love
in a quite absolute, final way.
What you are in love with,
what seizes your imagination, will affect everything.
It will decide
what will get you out of bed in the morning,
what you do with your evenings,
how you spend your weekends,
what you read, whom you know,
what breaks your heart,
and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.
Fall in Love, stay in love,
and it will decide everything.
