ACC/IAC Grants for Summer Research

The Atlantic Coast Conference International Academic Collaborative (ACC/IAC) is a joint effort to expand academic opportunities among the ACC member universities and to realize the potential of global collaborations for research and service. The ACC-IAC Grants for Summer Research are to support undergraduates from one ACC member university in conducting research on the campus of another member university.  Grants may be up to $5,000, and arrangements for housing at the ACC host university may be possible.

The ACC member universities are: Boston College, Clemson University, Duke University, Florida State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Louisville, University of Maryland, University of Miami, University of North Carolina, North Carolina State University, University of Notre Dame, University of Pittsburgh, Syracuse University, University of Virginia, and Wake Forest University.

Applications for the ACC/IAC Grants Summer Research are submitted through the Boston College Advanced Study Grant process and must include:

  • A proposal, specifying the goals of the research project, the contribution it will make to the applicant's long‑term intellectual development, and the relevant research resources at the ACC member university where the project will be conducted;
  • A budget summary of the expenses for which funding is being requested;
  • A letter of recommendation from the Boston College faculty member who will advise the project;
  • Where appropriate, a letter from the ACC university confirming that it will provide access to the research resources for the project.

Applications must be submitted to the Campus Coordinator for the ACC/IAC Grants for Summer Research, no later than April 1st. Interested students are urged to contact the Coordinator well before the formal deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
