Content on Your Site:  Filtering, Editing, and Deleting Content and Using Multi-Item Actions

manage project

Your MediaKron site can hold a great deal of content, ranging from pieces of text, to images, audio clips, and videos.  In order to stay organized, there are functions built into the site to help you filter, edit, and delete content.  There are also multi-item actions, which allow you to delete,
publish, or unpublish multiple pieces of content at the same
time.

To begin working with content in your MediaKron site, first
be sure that you are logged in.  Then, on the horizontal bar
next to the project title, click on Manage Project.

Then, from the toolbar on the left, select Content.

This will bring you to the Content workspace within MediaKron.  You will see content items currently on the site listed in this space.

Filtering Content

To sort content in this workspace area in order to view, edit, or delete a particular piece or group of content items, multiple filtering options are provided.  As pictured below, the descriptions for each filtering space are provided beneath
the respective box.

sort by title

You can choose to filter content using only one of the options.  For example, the content can be sorted by Title, as shown below.

title and type

You can also filter in multiple ways.  For example, the content can be sorted by Title and Type, as shown below.

title

In order to filter by Title, Author, or Tags, enter text in the box above the description.

auto fill title

If an Author or Tag is already in the system that matches your text, you should be able to select this person or tag.

choose topic

In order to filter by Topic or Type of content, use the drop-
down menu provided to select your filtering option.

Topic ->

sort type

Type ->

apply

When you are finished entering the filtering options you
would like, scroll over to the right and click Apply.

audio content sort

The content in the workspace should filter according to the settings you selected.  In the example below, you can see that the content was filtered by Type so that only audio pieces would appear in the list.

Using Multi-Item Actions

In this Content workspace, you can use the Multi-Item Actions to select, delete, publish, or unpublish multiple pieces of content at a time.  Publishing a piece of content means that it will be viewable by users on the live MediaKron site.  Unpublishing content means that it will no longer be viewable on the site.  However, unlike when the Delete option is used, the piece of content will still be available to you in the Content workspace.

In order to work with multiple items, first select the items by using the check boxes on the left of the content list.

choose an operation

After selecting the items you would like, scroll up and use the Operations function to delete, publish, or unpublish.

execute delete

To delete the chosen items, select this option from the drop-down Operations menu and click EXECUTE.

confirm deleting items

A message will appear asking you to confirm that the correct pieces of content have been chosen.  If you would like to delete these pieces, click Confirm.  If you would like to keep these pieces and return to the previous page, click Cancel.

items deleted

Once you have clicked Confirm, a message should appear that verifies that the selected items have been deleted.

publish content

To Publish the chosen items, select this option from the drop-down Operations menu and click EXECUTE.

confirm publish

A message will appear asking you to confirm that the correct pieces of content have been chosen.  If you would like to Publish these pieces, click Confirm.  If you would no longer like to Publish these items and would like to return to the previous page, click Cancel.

verify published item

Once you have clicked Confirm, a message should appear that verifies that the selected items have been Published.
