How will I receive my award?
At Boston College, students' awards are sent out electronically. Students will receive an email at their BC email address notifying them that their award is ready to view via their Agora Portal accounts under "Financial Aid Award Notification." The Award Notification will list your award, Cost of Attendance, and name of your Financial Aid Associate. By clicking on the name of the award, you can obtain a definition of that award.
I don't need all of the aid offered to me. How can I decline it?
You can decline some or all of your financial aid in the Award Notification via the "Edit" button at the bottom of the page.
Awards must be disbursed equally per award period and reduced equally as well. An award period is generally two concurrent semesters.
If you are starting in the Summer, your award period is Summer and Fall. Your Summer and Fall loan disbursements must be disbursed equally and reduced equally. Spring is an award period by itself. If you start in the Fall, then Fall and Spring is your award period.
Once you have changed the amounts, click the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page. You will need to enter your password in order for the changes to be sent. The changes are sent to your Financial Aid Counselor. As these changes are done manually, not electronically, please allow up to two weeks for them to be processed completely.
