Spring Semester 2014

January 13 Monday Classes begin.
January 20 Monday Martin Luther King, Jr. Day—No classes.
January 22 Wednesday Last date for undergraduates to drop/add or to declare a course pass/fail in UIS.
January 22 Wednesday Last date for graduate students to drop/add in UIS.
February 14 Friday Last date for undergraduate students only to drop a course or to declare a course pass/fail in the Associate Deans’ office.
February 28 Friday "I" (Incomplete) grades changed to "F" (Failure).

March 7
Spring Vacation.
March 19 Wednesday Online Course Evaluation Custom Questions are open to all faculty.
March 20
Thursday Undergraduate Academic Advising begins.
April 1 Tuesday Last date for master’s and doctoral candidates to submit signed and approved copies of theses and dissertations for May 2014 graduation.
April 7 Monday Graduate/CASU registration for summer and fall 2014 begins. GSSW summer registration begins at 7:00 p.m.
April 8 Tuesday Undergraduate registration for fall and summer 2014:
Class of 2015 registers on April 8 and 9.
Class of 2016 registers on April 10 and 11.
Class of 2017 registers on April 14 and 15.

Monday Passover begins at sundown.
April 15 Tuesday Last date for official withdrawal from a course.

Easter Weekend—No classes on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Monday.

April 21 Monday Patriot’s Day—No classes.
April 27 Sunday Online Course Evaluation Custom Questions closed to all faculty (non-Law).
April 28 Monday Law School registration for fall 2014 begins:
Class of 2015 registers on April 28.
Class of 2016 registers on April 29.
April 28 Monday Graduate School of Social Work registration for fall 2014 begins at 7:00 p.m. for the class of 2015 and 7:30 p.m. for all other classes.

Non-law Course Evaluation period.
April 30 Wednesday Course grading for spring 2014 begins (non-Law).
May 1 Thursday Last day of classes.
May 2 Friday Course grade change transactions available for spring 2014, fall 2013, summer 2013, and spring 2013 (non-law).

Study Days (no classes for undergraduate day students only).

May 6 Tuesday Access to posted grades for non-Law students who complete all their online course evaluations.

May 15 Thursday Spring grades due by noon (non-Law).

*These are the dates for the major Christian and Jewish holidays through the end of the spring 2014 semester. The Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr will fall during the summer months this year. Students may be obliged to spend time during the holidays with their families while classes are still in session or during the exam period.
