If you are eligible for the Room Selection Process, login to the Agora Portal and click on the "My Services" tab to find the "My ResLife" link, which provides access to the StarRez Portal. Once inside the StarRez Portal, you will see the following page:
Click on "Application" in the top ribbon.
STEP 1: Application Terms
A window will open offering a description of different types of application and a choice of available applications for you to complete. Check the current application and click "Select Application."
STEP 2: Personal & Contact Details
Please note that Step 1 has already been completed for you. Under "Personal & Contact Details," you can optionally edit the three open boxes with personal information. After completion, click "Save and Continue" at the bottom of the page.
STEP 3: Housing Intent
Choose from the drop-down menu to indicate your intent to live on campus. There are four selections for not intending to live on campus, and one for a positive intent to live on campus. Click "Save and Continue" to move on to the next step.
STEP 4: Hall Programming Donation
Read the description and decide whether to donate meal points toward hall programming. If you wish to donate, click the box. If you do not wish to donate, leave the box blank. Click "Save and Continue" to move on to the next step.
STEP 5: Residency Agreement.
All you must agree to the Residency Agreements and the linked Conditions of Residency. Check the box next to "I agree with the terms and conditions," then click "Save and Continue" to move on to the next step.
STEP 6: Roommate Questionnaire
Select radio buttons to indicate your habits and preferences, then click "Save and Continue" to move on to the next step.
STEP 7: Roommate Profile
IMPORTANT: If you wish to be added to a group, any group, make sure the pre-answered box remains checked. If it becomes unchecked, you will not be able to be added to a Room Selection Group later in the process.
You can also edit the other two fields. Click "Save and Continue" to move on to the next step.
STEP 8: Special Interest Housing Application
If you wish to apply for a Special Interest Housing floor, choose "Yes" from the first drop-down menu. In the second section, you can indicate for which available floors you would like to apply. Leave the first question as “No” if you do not wish to apply. Click "Save and Continue" to move on to the next step.
STEP 9: Special Interest Housing II
You will see these pages only if you answered Yes" in the previous step. For each program in which you indicated interest in Step 8, you will have an application to complete. Answer the questions, check the box indicating you have read and you agree to the Living Agreements for each floor, and then click "Save and Continue" to move on to the next step.
STEP 10: Special Interest Housing Roommates
If you complete a SIH application, you can view potential roommates from a pool of other you who also completed SIH applications. You can browse these other you by name or by how you match your answers on the Roommate Questionnaire.
STEP 11: Room Selection Groups
If you would not like to live in Special Interest Housing, you can form Room Selection Groups for any of the group processes that take place. If you already have an assignment, you will not be able to access these sections.
This page allows you to create a group or browse for roommates. Click "Save and Continue" to move on to the next step.
Creating a Group
If you create a group, you become the group leader and can add friends to a group. First, you must create a unique group name and password combination. Afterward, click "Save and Continue" to move on to the next step.
After you have provided a group name, you will be brought to the Group Management page. In the first section of the page, you can see that your group is not yet verified — verification happens only after a full group has been formed — and you can select a drawing to register for.
This brings you to a drawing registration page. Make your choice from a drop-down menu, then click "Save and Continue" to move on to the next step.
On the second part of the Group Management page, you will see the process for which you registered, and you will be able to search for roommates.
On the third section of the page, you can manage your group.
Selecting "Add a Group Member" will bring you to a page that lets you enter the Eagle number of another student and search for that student. Enter the number in the editable field, then click "Search."
If the Eagle number matches another student, and you have an application for the same term, their name will be returned in the search results. Click "Add to Group" to have that student entered as part of your Room Selection Group.
On the Group Management page, you can also browse for roommates by name, nickname, or screen name under the “Search Potential Roommates” link. Complete any of the editable fields you wish, then click "Search."
From the Group Management page, you can also delete your group. This function is available only for the group leader.
Members of the group will receive a confirmation page that the group has been deleted.
Finally, on the Group Management page you can, and must, verify the group you’ve created. Clicking "Verify" will let you know if you successfully verified a group, or if there was an error and you need to make some changes.
When you select "Verify Group," if you have successfully verified your group, you will see a page like this:
When it is time to select a room, log back into the Portal and choose “Select your Room.”
After you select that page, you will be brought to a new page that looks like this:
Choose the building in which you would like a room, and the next page will look like this:
Next, choose a floor you want to live on, then select the "Save and Continue" button. You will be brought to a screen that will show the available beds in a suite or apartment. Please note the special instruction for blocked groups.
Select all bedrooms in a suite or apartment and click "Save and Continue." You will be brought to a new page to assign the members of your group.
The group leader must be assigned to the first bed spot in the first bedroom. Then assign the others in order and click "Reserve Beds."
Once you have reserved the beds, you will be brought to the Room Assignment page and be able to view your group.
Clicking "Save and Continue" will bring you to your status page, and you are done!
