Fit Over 40 – Level 1
Fit over 40 – Level 1 is a personalized exercise program designed to meet the needs of adults over 40 who want a beginner workout. Exercise is important for your overall mental and physical health and is an essential part of living a healthy lifestyle! This well-rounded program includes a combination of weight training, cardiovascular, neuromuscular (balance/coordination), and flexibility exercises, geared to help you keep in shape all semester long! The class meets in the Small Group Training area of the Plex.
Fit Over 40 – Level 2
Fit over 40 – Level 2 is meant for participants who completed Fit Over 40 – Level 1 at least once and are ready to kick up the intensity! This personalized exercise program is designed to meet the needs of adults over 40 who want an intermediate workout. Building upon Fit Over 40 – Level 1, Level 2 will pick up the pace and also focus on more challenging exercises, while maintaining the combination of weight training, cardiovascular, neuromuscular (balance/coordination), and flexibility exercises, geared to help you keep in shape all semester long! The class meets in the Small Group Training area of the Plex.
Get Fit Circuit Training
Dedicate six weeks to forming a stronger, more consistent, exercise regimen with Get Fit Circuit Training! This class is for the individual who doesn’t fall into the Biggest Loser category, but still wants to lose a small amount of weight, and/or gain muscle and decrease fat. The trainer will deliver an intense, full-body, circuit-training workout regimen to help you reach your goals. This class meets in the Small Group Training area of the Plex.
Kettlebells 101
This momentum-based workout will improve your cardio conditioning, power and stability as you learn to swing, throw and catch your way to a higher level of fitness!
TRX Fridays
Start your weekend on a fit note with our once-a-week TRX Fridays class! This 45-minute class is meant to guide you through exercises solely on the TRX suspension trainers. Major muscle groups will be worked to exhaustion safely and effectively. This small group class is available for sign-up on a week-to-week basis, so you can sign-up for one Friday and then skip the next Friday if needed! Sign-ups will be taken in Member Services in advance, or until spots are filled. Class size is limited to eight participants. The cost is $5 per class!
Brighton Yoga
This six-week class will be held in the Brighton Campus Dance Studio. Certified yoga teachers will lead participants through yoga postures, meditation and breathing techniques to help achieve balance between the mind and body. The class will focus on alignment, as well as improving flexibility, strength, concentration, and relaxation. All levels are welcome. This is not a drop-in class, but free trials are available.
