Louis Astuto's interest in personal training derives from his passion for sports and fitness. Austin Brown is currently a sophomore in the Carroll School of Management. He is from Barrington, Rhode Island and has been involved in sports since the age of 3, exercising regularly and lifting since he was twelve. Austin is a former Division 1 college football player and also competed in three varsity sports in high school. Austin specializes in everything from learning the basics to heavy power lifting and hopes to help people reach their fitness goals through his passion for being healthy and fit.

Greg began lifting weights in order to improve his athletic performance; however, training soon became as enjoyable as playing sports. Greg likes to experiment with a variety of different training methods, including bodybuilding, powerlifting, and sport-specific training.
Greg focuses on improving size and strength while incorporating functional movements. He likes to bring his sense of humor into the weight room to create a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere.

Colin is a third year doctoral student in the Philosophy Department. His interest in personal training stems from his belief that a sound mind and a fit body complement one another. His expertise in personal training is fueled by his passion for Powerlifting, a strength sport which consists of the squat, bench press, and the deadlift. Colin also offers training in metabolic conditioning-- a process that allows the body to store and deliver energy more effectively, enabling improved muscular endurance and fat loss. His mission is to help his clients achieve their strength and conditioning goals by educating them about the fundamental principles of fitness in a positive environment.

Mike grew up in the Boston area and spent his high school years as a varsity football and lacrosse player and now plays for the Boston College club lacrosse team. Mike believes that knowledge of nutrition and exercise are the keys to attaining fitness goals.
While working with Mike, you will learn the keys to looking and feeling healthy. He will help you to better understand your body, show you how physical and mental well-being are closely connected, and use his knowledge from diverse fields to help you achieve your goals.

JP was an avid high school athlete, involved in both football and lacrosse. He also has several years’ experience working at sports clubs and gyms and enjoys working out at the Plex in his spare time. He began a serious weight training regimen here at Boston College and now considers it to be one of his specialties.
JP was introduced to Crossfit while interning at Reebok and found that he enjoys the physical and mental challenges associated with the sport. He welcomes the opportunity to share his fitness knowledge with others and encourages new weightlifters to approach him with questions regarding form, technique or anything fitness-related.

Amanda Crooks

Amanda is a hardworking and motivated individual who ran track and played volleyball in high school, but found her true passion for training here at the Plex while working out with a trainer her freshman year. She focuses on cardio-strength training and believes in helping clients achieve their goals by giving the same care and respect she received as a client.
Amanda takes care to never repeat a workout and gradually increases intensity as her clients’ fitness levels improve. In the past, Amanda has taught a number of fitness classes, including BCX, Chiseled, Fit Over 40, Beach Body Bootcamp and more. Amanda loves talking about health and wellness and welcomes all questions you may have about fitness!

Giovanni (Gio) has been actively involved in fitness for years and believes in doing whatever it takes to achieve one's goals. In high school, he was varsity wrestling captain and was voted the hardest working individual on his football team. More recently, he has been training for multiple mile-long obstacle courses that require endurance, determination, and great physical and mental strength.
Gio has learned a lot about nutrition and health maintenance through the nursing program, and enjoys sharing his knowledge with clients. While working with Gio, you can expect a different work out every day to avoid monotony and keep your workouts fresh!

She sees exercise not as a chore, but as a privilege and believes that the benefits of fitness carry over into all aspects of life.
