Student Employment

Campus Recreation offers many opportunities for undergraduate and graduate student employment. All prospective applicants should read through the BC Rec Recruitment Slideshow (embedded below), then check out the available positions for Summer 2014.

If you would like to apply for any positions, fill out the PDF application, save it to your computer and hand deliver it to the Member Services Office in the Flynn Recreation Complex. Some jobs may not have a PDF application. Instead, email the listed documents or information to the person listed in the job description.

Intramural Official

  • Flag Football (Fall and Spring)
  • Soccer (Fall and Winter)

Requirements

  • Officials certification preferred
  • Prior participation in sports preferred
  • Attend training sessions on IM rules
  • All weeknight shifts start after 5:00 PM
  • No Friday or Saturday nights required

Starting Salary:  $9.00/hr

Intramural Official Application

 

Lifeguard
Job Description
•Prevent aquatic-related emergencies as a member of a risk management team
•Provide great customer service
•Perform basic maintenance tasks
•Assist with special needs of members and guests in compliance with ADA regulations
•Assist as a member of an event management team

Requirements
•Current CPR/AED, First Aid & Lifeguard certifications
•Pass staff in-service skill test
•Excellent interpersonal communication skills
•Excellent physical and mental strength

Starting Pay Rate: $9.50/hr

Facility Supervisor
Job Description
•Responsible for Safety and Security of the Facility
•Opening and Closing
•First Responder to all injuries & incidents
•Supervises all student staff

Requirements
•Open to graduate students or undergraduate students with EMS experience
•PR/AED and First Aid required, EMT certification preferred

Additional training will be provided.Starting Pay Rate:  $12.00/hr

Job Description

•Some heavy lifting may be required (up to 75 lbs)

Job Description
•Responsible for Safety and Security of the Facility
•Opening and Closing

•Academic year only

Requirements
•Access to Newton Campus
•CPR/AED & First Aid Certified

Starting Pay Rate:  $10.00/hr

Quonset Hut Monitor Application

 

Tennis Instructor
Job Description
•Instruct both group and private lessons for youth and/or adults
•Instruct all levels (beginner – advanced)

Requirements
•Prior playing experience
•Prior instructing experience
•Flexible hours for private lessons
•Strong interpersonal skills & enthusiasm
•Must work well with children    

You must be available for at least 10 of the below hours:

Academic Year
Monday-Friday: 10:00 am-6:00 pm
Saturday-Sunday: 9:00 am-3:00 pm

Starting Pay Rate: $16.00/hr
