Director, Campus Recreation
Caitríona Taylor rejoined the Campus Recreation team in December of 2011 as the Director of Campus Recreation. She provides leadership over a comprehensive recreation and wellness program for a student, faculty and staff population of over 20,000 people. Caitríona also served in different roles at Boston College from 2004 to 2009. She was Manager of the following areas: Aquatics, Instructional Programs, and Varsity Camps/Clinics.
Caitríona served as President of Kulae (an eco-friendly yoga equipment company) from 2009 to 2011. She was the Associate Aquatic Director at MIT from 2002 to 2004, and part of the team that opened the $76 million MIT Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center.
In 2002, Caitríona received a Bachelors of Arts from Boston University in International Relations and Public Relations. She was a student employee in the Physical Educational, Recreation, and Dance department, working as a lifeguard, swim instructor and promotions assistant. She continued her education while working at Boston College, receiving a Masters in Business Administration (Global Management) from the Boston College Carroll School of Management in 2008.
She currently resides in Cambridge, MA.
Manager, Marketing and Communications
Megan Burkes joined the Campus Recreation staff in February 2011. Megan oversees the marketing and promotion of all campus recreation programs and events. She serves as webmaster for the Campus Recreation site, manages all of BC Rec's social media channels, maintains the department's photo catalog, and designs and produces all promotional items, print and electronic marketing pieces.
In 2008, Megan graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in communications. Megan and her husband, Randall, relocated from Alaska to Boston in 2011.
Assistant Director, Club Sports & Recreational Camp
Monica Capobianco has been working at Boston College since September of 2003. Monica joined the Campus Recreation staff as the Assistant Manager of Club Sports in September 2006, served as the Assistant Director of Intramural and Club Sports from July 2008 – July 2010 and is now the Assistant Director of Club Sports and Recreational Camp. She oversees all facets of the Club Sports program comprised of 22 Club Sports with over 700 student-athletes. Monica’s favorite component of her job is the Leadership and Development of the students, specifically the Club Sports Council.
During her first years at BC Monica served as Administrative Secretary/Receptionist in the administrative suite of the Department of Athletics. During this time Monica earned her Master’s of Science in Advancing Studies and served as the Women’s Club Lacrosse Head Coach in 2006.
A 2003 graduate of Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y. Capobianco earned a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She earned a full scholarship to play lacrosse, was a four-year starter on defense and was elected captain her senior year during her career with the Seahawks. She is originally from Walpole, Massachusetts.
Graduate Assistant, Intramurals
Emily Charnowski joined the Campus Recreation staff as the Graduate Assistant for Intramural Sports in August 2012.
A 2012 graduate of Boston College, Emily earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Theology with a minor in General Education. During her time at BC, Emily was very involved in athletics. She was a captain and four year member of the varsity rowing team as well as an active member of the Student Athlete Advisory Council having served as an Executive Board Member.
Emily was also a student employee in the Intramural Program where she worked as both an official and office staff member.
Manager, Member Sales & Services
Sandy Corsi has been a member of the Boston College Campus Recreation staff since September 1997. She joined the staff as the Co-Membership & Facilities Coordinator in the Membership Office. Two years later, Sandy changed to a full-time position and became the Lead Door Attendant. Sandy was later promoted to Supervisor of Front Desk Operations and then became the Manager of Membership and Front Desk Operations. She is now responsible for overseeing the operation of the Membership Office and Equipment Desk, as well as managing their respective staffs.
Sandy lives in Watertown with her husband, Frank, and two sons, Dean and Brian.
Hilary De Vries
Assistant Director, Fitness & Wellness
Hilary joined the Campus Recreation staff as the Assistant Director of Fitness and Wellness in June 2012. She oversees the operation of the Group Fitness Program, Personal Training Program, Small Group Fitness Program, and Wellness Program in collaboration with other campus departments.
Prior to joining the recreation staff Hilary worked in corporate fitness as a Health Fitness Professional for Health Fitness Corporation. She served as a Graduate Intern at Southern Connecticut State University’s Fitness Center, and has worked as a group fitness instructor and personal fitness trainer. Before entering the field of fitness she worked as a Copy Editor for Modern Healthcare magazine.
Hilary received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Loyola University Chicago and her Master of Science in Exercise Science – Human Performance from Southern Connecticut State University.
Manager, Recreational Facilities
Terry was promoted to Assistant Manager, Recreation Facilities in April of 2007. Terry joined the Campus Recreation staff in September of 1996 as a part-time Supervisor. In his new position, Terry assists with the safety, security, and maintenance of the facility. He also is the Flynn Complex racquetball instructor.
Prior to coming to Boston College, Terry worked in the health & fitness industry for over fifteen years. Terry was the General Manager of the Ferncroft Club in Danvers, MA from 1995 to 1996. From 1982 to 1994, Terry held several positions at the Babson Recreation Center in Wellesley, MA including those of Front Desk Manager, Membership Sales Manager, and Racquetball Director.
A graduate of Boston College, Terry earned a BA in English in 2001 and a Med. in Curriculum & Instruction from the Lynch School of Education in 2003.
Terry resides in Needham, MA with his wife and two children.
Group Fitness Coordinator
Jeannette began working at Boston College in 1980 and spent 32 years as an administrator working in a variety of departments across the campus. She assumed her role as Group Fitness Coordinator at the Flynn Recreation Complex in August 2012.
Jeannette’s life passion for fitness inspired her to become certified as a personal trainer in 1994 and since then continued her education in the fitness industry. She began teaching group fitness classes at the Plex in 2005.
Assistant Director, Intramural & Instructional Programming
Daryl Shreve joined the Campus Recreation staff as the Assistant Director of Intramural & Instructional Programming in August 2012.
Bryan Sun joined the Campus Recreation staff as the Assistant Manager of Intramural Sports in August 2008.
A 2008 graduate of Boston College, Bryan earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics. Bryan spent his four years at BC as an integral part of the Intramural program. He has served as an official, office staff member, and student supervisor. Bryan was also a 3 year team manager for the Men’s basketball program.
Assistant Director, Aquatics
Leonardo joined the Campus Recreation staff in February 2007 as the Lead Facility Supervisor and now serves as the Manager of Aquatics.
Leonardo was born in Managua, Nicaragua, and in the mid 80’s he moved the USA. Leonardo currently resides in Brookline, MA.
Leonardo has over 15 years experience in the aquatic industry. He worked at MIT as a Recreation Leader in Aquatics, the Town of Brookline as a Recreation Leader and in Miami at Miami Beach Patrol as a Lifeguard.
Leonardo is a certified Lifeguard, CPR, AED, Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor and Water Aerobics Instructor.
Graduate Assistant, Personal Training
Grio joined the Campus Recreation staff as the Graduate Assistant for Personal Training in August 2012. He has worked at the Flynn Complex as a personal trainer and fitness attendant since 2010.
Associate Director, Programming and Student Development
Kenny joined the Campus Recreation staff as the Associate Director for Programming and Student Development in January 2012. He oversees the operation of the Outdoor Adventures Program, Aquatics Program, Intramurals Program, Club Sports Program and the Fitness and Wellness Program.
Before joining the recreation staff Kenny served as the Camps Clinics and Facility Administrator for the Boston College Athletic Department from July 2007-January 2012.
Kenny received his Bachelors degree in Sports Management from Flager College and his Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2005 and served as the Graduate Assistant for Sport Clubs, Intramurals and Facilities in the Campus Recreation Department. Prior to his arrival at Boston College he was the Facility Administrator for the Arizona State University Student Recreatin Complex. Kenny is an active member of NIRSA.
Kenny and his wife Lauren live in Weymouth with their twins, Reagan and Connor.
Manager, Recreational Facilities
Brian joined the Campus Recreation staff in July 2012 as Manager of Recreational Facilities. In his position, Brian is responsible for the safety, maintenance, and security of all campus recreation facilities. He also manages the student staff working at the Control Desk and the Quonset Hut.
Brian graduated from Boston College in 2012 with a degree in History and Philosophy and worked for three years as an undergrad at the Plex in member services and as a facility supervisor.
Brian currently lives in Weymouth.
Judy Wetherbee joined the part-time staff of Campus Recreation in 2001 as the Co-Membership and Facilities Coordinator. Prior to that, Judy worked as an Administrative Assistant in a law firm.
She became a full-time Membership Assistant and later promoted to Campus Rec Staff Assistant. Judy supports Campus Recreation in many areas, including tours of the facility for new employees of Boston College.
Judy resides in Waltham with her husband, Richard and two sons, Cameron and Adam.
Associate Director, Facilities & Operations
Eric joined the Boston College athletics department staff in October of 2006 as the assistant manager of intramural sports. In 2007, he became the assistant director, intramural and club sports. Eric now serves as the Associate Director of Facilities and Operations for Campus Recreation overseeing the day to day operation of the Flynn Complex and Quonset Hut.
In 2004, Eric received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Denison University in Political Science and Art History. In addition to obtaining his B.A., he also oversaw the intramural program for his alma mater during his undergraduate experience.
Eric currently lives in Boston.
