Stokes Hall is on schedule for a late fall completion, according to project manager Ed Stokes.

Permanent walkways and lighting have been placed around the perimeter of the 183,000 square-foot buidling.

Pedestrian access from College Road to the back of McElroy Hall will be open daily beginning at 4 p.m. and throughout weekends. There will also be a temporary stairway off the walkway that will be in place through October. It will be accessible to students from 4 p.m. until 7 a.m.

The masonry and limestone work on the exterior of the building, as well as Interior construction, will be completed in October.  Furnishings and Equipment installation will begin in mid-October and be completed by the end of November.  Site work and Landscaping will be ongoing through the month of November.  Occupants will begin moving into the building in December, with an official opening scheduled for January, 2013.

STOKES HALL AND SUSTAINABILITY
Stokes has been designed and is being constructed as a LEED certified building, in keeping with BC's 'green building' commitment that all new buildings are to be designed and built to a minimum LEED Silver rating. A higher rating will be sought when possible. BC has already constructed four LEED Platinum buildings and one LEED Gold building.
