University Mourns Senior Kelly Gordon

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (4-11-14) — The University community mourns the death of Carroll School of Management senior Kelly Gordon. Vice President for Student Affairs Barb Jones sent the following letter to the student body today.

Dear Students:

It is with sadness that I inform you that Boston College senior Kelly Gordon, of Brielle, New Jersey, was killed yesterday in New York City after being struck by a motor vehicle.

Kelly was a popular student in the Carroll School of Management, studying marketing and finance, and was in New York City to attend job interviews. She was with her sister at the time of the accident, and was crossing a street in Manhattan when she was struck and killed by a taxicab, according to police.

This morning, members of our Campus Ministry staff alerted her roommates and close friends about this tragedy. I ask all of you to keep Kelly and her family in your thoughts and prayers and to support each other during this difficult time. Please know that counselors are available for students at University Counseling Services in Gasson Hall, and that all Masses on campus this weekend will be offered for Kelly and her family.

Information regarding funeral and memorial services will be posted at www.bc.edu/bcinfo when it becomes available.

Sincerely,

Barb Jones
Vice President for Student Affairs
