Halloween Social

On Wednesday, October 28th, the OISS hosted its annual International Assistant Halloween Social in the Cabaret room.  Participants in the IA Program (first year undergraduates, exchange students and international assistants) enjoyed the yummy snacks prepared by the IAs and also had fun carving pumpkins.  Each cluster group was given a pumpkin to carve.  Some groups made traditional jack-o-lanterns, while others were very creative and competitive.  The judging of best pumpkin was very difficult.  However, after careful consideration, the judges called a tie between cluster group 4 and group 8.  Group 4 expressed their group pride by carving their group number all over the pumpkin and an image of their signature “happy dance.”  Group 8’s H1N1 pig pumpkin was also a big hit. Several attendees got in the spirit of the holiday by dressing in costumes.  OISS student assistant and IA program coordinator, Ashley Kallarakal (class of 2011), showed off her love for the world by dressing up as a globe.  The OISS would like to thank all of the IAs and ISs for making the Halloween Social a big success
