| Message from President: Graduate International Students Association(GISA) is a student organization run by graduate international students at Boston College. Our mission is to provide educational, social and cultural opportunities to the graduate international student community at Boston College. We started the academic year by having the 'Welcome Party' in the month of September to welcome all the new and returning graduate students. We hosted a series of events called 'An Afternoon over Tea', where graduate students can socialize on campus and meet their peers from different schools at Boston College. I thank you for your continuous support for the event. We continue to try to enhance the international experience of graduate students on campus by having evenings dedicated to introducing the culture, economy and experience of living if different countries around the world. We have so far introduced Bulgaria and Rwanda in our Mini Cultural Night Series and plan to have more on countries from Asia, Europe and Latin America. We plan to end the semester by having a Holiday Party on December 3 to celebrate the different cultural holidays around the world. We welcome all graduate students, their friends and families to come and enjoy our events.
Regards,
Puja Lakdawala

Message from Patricia Lopez: International students make up a very small part of the BC community. Although there exists the IA program as well as a variety of different culture groups that international students can join, there is currently no organization to bring this otherwise dispersed group together. The International Students Club of Boston College (ICBC) is a group that will serve not only as a social group where international students and other BC students can meet, it will also attempt to raise awareness and increase knowledge of international issues on campus. There will be many entertaining planned events like International student night, an International cafe, and even an International ball. In addition to all international students, the group will also welcome any other interested BC students!
If you are interested in being a part of ICBC, please reply to Patricia Lopez with any thoughts, suggestions and ideas.
