WRC Discussion and Support Groups
Support Groups
The Women’s Resource Center provides several groups for students at Boston College. The groups are confidential and free of charge. They offer a caring atmosphere where students can come together to find support, to share their experience, or to simply listen. New members are always welcome.

Discussion/Consciousness Raising Groups:
Mosiac
A group that aims to bring women together through weekly discussions that focus on issues affecting women of color in our community. Mosaic is open to students of all backgrounds from Boston College. Members will be a part of a community that will provide each other with support, growth, and empowerment. Past discussion topics have ranged from deconstructing the portrayals of women of color both on the BC campus and in the media, challenging the concept of the “double glass ceiling” that many women of color face in the workplace, and breaking stereotypes surrounding domestic and sexual abuse. Throughout the year, members of Mosaic will also collaborate with WRC programs where they will be able to share what they have gained through weekly discussions with the greater BC community through creative programming.
Think Tank
The women’s Think Tank is a consciousness-raising forum that meets weekly to discuss feminist issues on campus, locally and globally. Two WRC student staff members facilitate the discussions, but participants are regularly given the opportunity to lead discussions by bringing in articles, videos, or images that relate to issues relevant to gender equality and feminism. Each semester, Think Tank members develop an action project that can raise awareness throughout the entire campus about one or more topics that have come up during the semester. In these ways, Think Tank is an important avenue for students interested in women and gender issues to familiarize themselves with the WRC. Apply to Think Tank today!
Uncovered
A monthly book club that offers a relaxed and open space for students interested in reading about and discussing a variety of issues including gender identity, sexuality, feminism, and the construction of masculinity/femininity among other topics. UnCovered is an opportunity for students to engage in discussion with professors whom they otherwise may not be able to meet or have in a classroom setting as well as with peers who are interested in these topics. The readings are personally selected by the professor featured each meeting.
