Prevention and Response

The Women’s Resource Center is committed to not only responding to incidents of sexual violence, but also to preventing those incidents from occurring.

National statistics indicate that one in four women and one in sixteen men will be victims of sexual assault or attempted sexual assault during their four years in college. This is an alarming and staggering statistic.

Who has the power to prevent sexual assault? You do. The WRC teaches Boston College students to understand their power and to step into a situation that may lead to sexual assault through the Bystander Intervention Education program. Click here to learn more.

The WRC offers services to survivors and friends of survivors. Click here to learn more about the all of the resources, namely the Sexual Assault Network (SANet), a 24 hour/7 day a week hotline staffed by trained advocates provide resources and to support the survivor or friend of the survivor as they embark on the healing process.
