Office of the Dean for Student Development

The staff in the Office of the Dean of Students (DOS) are here to enhance the quality of student life outside the classroom. We encourage every student to take advantage of the multiple opportunities for leadership development, volunteer service, student activity programming, and multicultural activities. DOS aims to facilitate the creation of a happy, respectful, and productive community of student scholars.

Many of the lifelong memories that students will keep of their time at Boston College will be of experiences outside the classroom. We encourage students to reach beyond their grasp and develop to their full potential.

DOS is also concerned about moral, ethical, and spiritual development. The Dean of Students holds students to a very high standard of academic and personal behavior that will respect the community standards inherent to a Catholic, Jesuit institution. We want students to learn to make wise and responsible decisions based upon personal reflection and communication with peers and mentors.

The world needs leaders for tomorrow. The Office of the Dean of Students helps students develop the skills and qualities that will allow them to provide this leadership.
