THIS SECTION IS INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE APPALACHIA VOLUNTEERS PROGRAM-2013-2014

Fundraising:

Dues: $50 are to be paid online here:  https://commerce.cashnet.com/UMM
After clicking on this link, click on the Campus Ministry link and then scroll down to Appalachia Raffle.  Dues are non refundable.

Letter Campaign: The majority of our funds are generated through our letter campaign.  Download the campaign letter from our "Forms" page and print and sign 11 copies.  Address and stamp 11 envelopes to 11 different households, organizations, institutions, internships, employers, etc. Click here for specific instructions.

Raffle: Download and print out the raffle tickets from the "Forms and Letters" page.  Each student must sell 40 $5 raffle tickets for a total of $200.  Once you have collected your $200, you will bring your 40 raffle tickets, complete with the purchasers's information on the front and your name written on the back of each ticket, to the meeting on December 2nd and pay your $200 online here: https://commerce.cashnet.com/UMM

THIS SECTION IS INFORMATION FOR DONORS TO THE APPALACHIA VOLUNTEERS PROGRAM -2013-2014

The Appalachia Volunteers Program is paid by only the money the students raise in fundraising. Last year, our budget was $300,000 and we anticipate that this number will increase significantly in the coming years.

Where are the costs coming from?
A large percentage of our budget goes towards transportation expenses. We charter buses to centralized car rental locations, then rent minivans and drive to our destination.

How do we cover the costs?
This program is open to anone who wants to join. There is no application process and the only money that much from a participant's pocket is a $50 program fee.

Throughout the year, we sponsor fundraising events that give students the chance to raise money by two different ways,
            1.) Selling tickets to prize giveaways
            2.) Sending letters appealing to family and friends

What you can do to help!
With your tax-deductible donation to our program, you are making a valuable investment in a learning experience whose lessons many of our future leaders that will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
