information technology services

Most students bring a cell phone to campus. If you want a land line, a BC phone number is assigned to you for the duration of your education at BC. If you live on campus, your phone features call waiting, call forwarding, and 3-way conferencing at no additional cost.

Local calls (617 & local 781) are free! Most students use their cell phones or a calling card for long distance calls.

How to activate your bc phone on campus

When you arrive on campus, simply plug your phone into the phone jack by your bed. Call 5-DIAL (5-3425) and follow the voice prompts.

If I want a land line, what type of phone should I bring?

If you want to have a land line, bring a standard touch-tone phone with a cord. Make sure the # key on your phone does not function as the "redial button." You need the # key to activate your phone. A cordless phone is not recommended because there are so many lines in such a small space on campus, you may experience a great deal of interference and crossed lines. This means your private conversations could be heard by others.
