Technical Improvements

 Interface somewhat modernized and simplified:

  1. Vertical organization of forms for a more streamlined user experience and better use of browser space, reducing complexity and improving efficiency with collapsible sections with larger text areas and wider tables
  2. Easy navigation by using the Tab and Enter keys, reducing user clicks to see frequently-used information
  3. Designed for the commonly-used monitor size and screen resolution
  4. Menu Navigator has been improved to expand and collapse, allowing for intuitive navigation
  5. Enhanced record lists with multi-select, enabling users to select multiple records when using the Fill function
  6. Simplified tool tray containing consolidated buttons with more appropriate labels that correspond to clear and concise user actions
  7. Improved field and label alignment
  8. New mandatory field indicator

 Web client experience improvements include:

  1.  New accordion design provides the Web 2.0 look and feel
  2. Record list view improvements include:
  3. Users have a choice of selecting 25, 50, or 100 records per record list page
  4. Paging control has been improved to be more intuitive
  5. Move forward and backward one page at a time
  6. Easily move to the first or last page
  7. The Count records button and page count information are improved
  8. Auto refresh has been added to complement the manual refresh
  9. Web client performance improvements include
  10. Improved performance when moving between tabs and upon loading

 HP changes to support performance:

  1. Icons removed from Options menus
  2. Frequently used images preloaded
  3. More caching on the browser side to avoid web server round trips when switching from one navigation tab to another
  4. HTML generation performance improved, which improves web tier scalability
  5. JavaScript loading moved to the end of the page so user can interact with page without waiting for all JavaScript to load
  6. CSS made smaller at build time
  7. JavaScript made smaller at build time
Service Delivery changes to support performance:
  1. Boosted hardware specs for all servers.
  2. Introduction of load balancers for the web tier.
  3. Streamlined code for adding tickets.
