Using Wikis

bcshare documentation

Within BCshare Groups, a Wiki can be created to allow multiple group members to create, modify, and organize content in a collaborative manner.

PLEASE NOTE: You cannot create Pages in a Group; if you want to create pages with static content while in a Group, use Wiki pages.

To create a main Wiki for the Group, click on the "Create Wiki Main Page" and scroll down to "Create Wiki Page" in the Group menu on the left side of the page.

PLEASE NOTE: The Title of this main Wiki page MUST be named "Main Wiki" exactly. After this is done, the text in the tabbed menu will change from "Create Wiki Main Page" to "Wiki".

This brings up the "Submit Wiki" page. Please note that "Title" is a required field. Group posts will be visible only within the group by default. Check the "Public" checkbox to show this post to the general public. The Log message is available to add additional information about your post.

Once the Wiki has been created, it's open for comments via the "Post New Comment" box, as well as revisions (using the "Edit" tab).

You can create numerous Wiki pages, then create an editable Navigation menu for them, similar to the functionality available in Pages. Click on "Edit Nav" to bring up the Build Wiki Navigation page.

Here, you can drop and drag your Wiki pages, then order or reorder them.

Once a Wiki has been edited, a "Revisions" tab appears next to the "Edit" tab. Use this to access older versions of information on that Wiki page. The Revisions page will also track any Log messages that have been added.
