The rich language and culture of Spain experienced through the lens of an academic internship placement will offer you an extraordinary opportunity to integrate into Madrid life. You will beneﬁt greatly by fine-tuning your language skills and developing practical, professional skills. Students are placed with well-known companies in many industry sectors, as well as with smaller innovative organizations.

*Specific program dates will be confirmed soon. The internship will span seven weeks with the first few days of the program being devoted to orientation.
From business to education, the placement team provides a broad spectrum of intellectually engaging internships based on your ﬁeld of interest, professional goals, and skill set. Because all placements are conducted in Spanish, your Spanish speaking skills will also play an integral role in the type of placement you receive. Industry placements have included areas of:
- Arts & Culture
- Healthcare & Education
- Politics, Law & NGOs
Placements in homestays will be arranged by the BC Resident Director based on availability and consideration for student preferences. Almost all meals will be provided by your host family.
Scholarships & Grants
Students are eligible for the McGillycuddy-Logue Travel Grant. Eligibility and application information can be found on the OIP scholarship website.
As a complement to your Madrid internship placement, all students will complete an academic component to receive one-credit towards BC graduation requirements.
Students are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to and from Madrid.
