Kaitlin is pursuing a Master's in Educational Leadership at Boston College. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a degree in History and French in 2010. In 2009 she had the opportunity to study in Paris and teach English to elementary and high school students. It was this educational experience and the love of languages and cultures discovered in her European travels which would inspire her to become a middle school French teacher in her hometown of Marblehead, MA. In the eight months spent in Europe, Kaitlin had the opportunity to explore France, Holland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Ireland, the U.K., Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Italy, and Spain. She looks forward to sharing her experience and assisting students in making the most of their international journeys.

There is no experience quite like traveling and living in a different country and culture, a lesson Mary first learned in high school when she traveled to Normandy, France to learn about WWII while living with a French host family. This brief journey ignited a passion and curiosity about different cultures that led her to pursue a semester abroad in Vietnam while an undergraduate at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. It is an experience that she credits as one of the best of her life, and one that she is more than happy to talk about! In addition to her semester in Vietnam, Mary participated in The March: Bearing Witness to Hope a journey that took her to Germany and Poland with Holocaust survivors to learn about the events of the Holocaust. At Boston College Mary will be working towards her Master's in History, with an emphasis on WWII and Human Rights and looks forward to working with students as they plan for their semesters abroad.

She traveled to Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the U.K., Spain, Ireland and France. After graduation, she spent four months volunteering in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and China, and also traveled throughout Australia. She has also spent time in Ecuador, Israel and Egypt.
