Role in Office
Christina Dimitrova Hatzipetros is the Assistant Director for International Development. As International Study Advisor, Christina is responsible for OIP’s programming in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Southeast Europe. She is also a member of the University Fellowships Committee, coordinating the McGillycuddy-Logue, ACC-IAC, NSEP/David L. Boren, Benjamin Gilman, Bridging, and Freeman-ASIA scholarships at Boston College.
Christina holds a Diplôme d'études approfondies (D.E.A.) in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International Studies (HEI), University of Geneva, Switzerland and a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Massachusetts.
Prior to her appointment at Boston College in 2004, Christina Dimitrova interned at the United Nations Commission on Human Rights in Geneva. She has also held administrative positions with Education Development Center, Williams Communications and the University of Sofia.
Areas of Interest
Christina's professional interests include program development in non-traditional study abroad destinations, with a special focus on the Eastern Mediterranean; international education and service learning; campus internationalization; intercultural communication and cultural diplomacy. Her graduate work in political science is in the field of foreign policy analysis.
Hatzipetros is a certified mentor with the Benjamin Elijah Mays Institute for Mentors at Boston College.
