What are i>clickers?

Introductory Video: The Use of Personal Response Systems at Boston College

i>clickers are easy-to-use hand-held remote devices with buttons that students press to respond to questions posed by their instructors. i>clickers are also sometimes referred to as classroom response systems or personal response systems.

The i>clicker software transmits the student responses to a receiver attached to the instructor’s computer. You can then display a graphical distribution of the results on the classroom screen. The i>clicker remote has 5 alphabetically labeled buttons (A through E). When a student clicks one of these buttons, radio frequency signals transmit the responses to the receiver.

The bookstore will order the i>clickers for your students to purchase along with their textbooks. An IDeS staff member will contact you to arrange an initial consultation, to provide you with the i>clicker software and support in getting started.
