C21 Online: Using Distance Learning Technology to Explore Faith and Life across Time and Space

December 3, 2009

Barbara Radtke, Program Manager for the Church in the 21st Century Online (C21 Online), provided glimpses into the C21 Online experience. Now in its sixth year, C21 Online, offers online non- credit workshops and courses which create conversations about faith and life. As a program of the School of Theology and Ministry, C21 Online creates a vehicle to partner with various church entities and helps foster ministries and lifelong religious education. At the luncheon Barbara talked about who takes C21 Online courses, what instructional technologies are used, and what happens when people come together across time zones nationally and internationally to discuss matters of faith. She also covered how C21 Online has utilized instructional technologies to bridge the gap between distance learners.
