Confidential Data

Boston College uses Identity Finder as a tool to aid in the process of finding and handling confidential data on faculty and staff computers.

When sending confidential data electronically, to those who are authorized, it is important to ensure it is being transmitted securely. Email is not a secure method of electronic delivery, therefore, we strongly recommend that you use MyFiles@bc to store and share electronic documents. (MyFiles@bc is a secure web-based file storage and sharing application that you can access from anywhere.)

For security, make sure Outlook's auto-archive feature is turned off
  1. From the Tools menu, click Options
  2. Click the Other tab, then click the AutoArchive button. 
  3. Un-check the first box to Run AutoArchive and click OK.
