Tour the MyFiles@bc Web Application
myfiles@bc
The MyFiles@bc Web application is organized to help you easily navigate throughout your MyFiles@bc account. Once you sign in to your account (www.bc.edu/myfiles), you see your home directory's contents. Here is an example of what MyFiles@bc looks like the first time you log in (see Figure 1):

Once you are signed in to your account, you can upload files to your MyFiles@bc account. (Learn how to upload files to your MyFiles@bc account.) Once files are uploaded to your MyFiles@bc account, you can work directly with the files listed or navigate to other folders using the header or the navigation toolbar. Here is an example of what MyFiles@bc looks like after you have uploaded files to your account (see Figure 2):

Header
The header of MyFiles@bc displays basic information and navigation tools (see Figure 3).![]()

Toolbar
Use the toolbar to manage your folders and files (see Figure 4).

Your MyFiles@bc account contents
The contents of your MyFiles@bc account are shown in the main part of the page. Each file or folder is listed on a separate row that contains the item's name, information on whether the file/folder is shared, date it was last modified, size, and tags. For folders, the size represents the total size of all files within that folder, including subfolders.
Here is an example of the contents of a MyFiles@bc account (see Figure 5):

Within the contents of your MyFiles@bc account, learn about:
- Sorting your files and folders
- Your current folder path and refreshing your folder listing
- Your total size and quota
- Selecting and deselecting all files and folders
Sorting your files and folders
You can sort your files and folders by name, date of last modification, or size.
- To sort your files and folders in ascending order, click the Name, Shared With, Date Last Modified, Size, or Tags column title (see Figure 6).
- To sort your files and folders in descending order, click the Name, Shared With, Date Last Modified, Size, or Tags column title again (see Figure 6).

The current folder path is located directly above the contents of your MyFiles@bc account (see Figure 7). Use this to verify the location of the current folder and to navigate to parent folders.

Your total size and quota
The bottom of the screen shows the quota in a gray bar (see Figure 8):
- Total Size - The total size of all your files and folders, including each subfolder's contents.
Note: Items in your trash count against your quota. - Quota - The maximum amount that can be saved in this folder. Learn more about folder quotas. If this is your home folder, this quota is the maximum amount that can be saved in your MyFiles@bc account.

You can select and deselect all of the files and folders currently displayed by clicking the box to the left of the Name column title (see Figure 9):
