Editing files from the MyFiles@bc Website
If you want to edit your files from the MyFiles@bc website, you must download the file to make the edits, then upload the file back to your MyFiles@bc account.
To edit files from the MyFiles@bc website:
- Sign in to your MyFiles@bc account at: www.bc.edu/myfiles
- Download the file to your computer.
- Make edits to the file, as needed.
- Upload the file back up to your MyFiles@bc account.
Important: Make sure to select Overwrite file if it already exists.
Editing files in your Web folder (Windows only)
If you create a Web folder on your Windows computer for your MyFiles@bc space, you can use MyFiles@bc files and folders just like local files and folders on your computer. Learn how to create a Web folder to your MyFiles@bc space. To edit files in your Web folder (Windows only):
- Open the file from your MyFiles@bc Web folder, which is located in My Network Places or Web Folders (see the figure below).
Note: Through most applications, such as Word or Excel, just open the file as you would with local files or folders on your computer.

Open the file from your MyFiles@bc Web folder, which is located in My Network Places or Web Folders.
- When prompted, enter your BC username and password.
- Make edits to the file, as needed.
- Save the file back to your MyFiles@bc Web folder (the same way as you would any other file to a drive on your computer).
